Wynston Dixon

Pastor Wynston E. Dixon was born in Liberia, West Africa. He answered the call of God on his life in the sixth grade, through the Holy Ghost teachings of his Bible teacher, Rev. Joel Leroy. After receiving his high school diploma from Ricks Institute (1974), Pastor Dixon graduated with honors in Theology from Cuttington University College in Liberia (1979), where he served as President of the Student Government. During his presidency, he represented the University and his country at an international meeting of student leaders in Tripoli, Libya and Lagos, Nigeria

While at Cuttington University College, Pastor Dixon was appointed by the President of Liberia, The Rev. Dr. William R. Tolbert, Jr. to serve on the preparatory committee responsible for hosting all African heads of state for the Organization of African Unity Conference (OAU). He also was a guest of the president on an official state visit to Angola.
A recognized religious scholar and leader in school, church and community, he was first ordained a Deacon by the United Methodist Church Bishop (and Vice President of Liberia) Bennie D. Warner.   Later he served as Assistant Pastor of A.D. Williams United Methodist Church and Associate Pastor of the Harbel Community Church in Firestone, Liberia.
Pastor Dixon came to the United States in 1982 to pursue his graduate studies. Shortly after obtaining the Masters of Divinity degree from Perkins Divinity School at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas (1986), Pastor Dixon was accorded his Elder's Orders by the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church in 1990. He was ordained by Bishop Edsel A. Ammons.
Since that time, he has grown from Associate Minister, under the able tutelage of the Rev. Dr. Fred Heath, Jr. of Gaines United Methodist Church, to Pastor of the Milford-Calvary United Methodist Church of Milford, Ohio, where he served for seven years (1988-1995). He has further served as Pastor of the following churches: Asbury North United Methodist Church in Columbus, Ohio for five years (1995-2000); Asbury United Methodist Church of Toledo, Ohio (2000-2005); and  in June, 2005 was appointed Pastor of Braden United Methodist Church  in Toledo, Ohio where he is currently serving.
Pastor Dixon is a man with vast experience and educational backgrounds.    Pastor Dixon is a great preacher and teacher of Scripture and believes that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God.
He feels blessed to be used by the Almighty God to proclaim His powerful Word.
Pastor Dixon is the proud father of one daughter, Wynlita and grandfather of Ja'Layah.  His parents are Rachel Worrell-Dixon and Nehemiah F. Dixon, Sr. He has four brothers; Harvey, Wallace, Nehemiah and Dave of which he is the youngest and one sister, Tina.


Diana De Venney

My name is Diana K. De Venney, I was born and raised in Muskegon, MI.  I grew up in the United Methodist Church and was a member at Faith United Methodist Church in Oregon, Ohio.

My husband and I pastured a 3-point U.M. Charge in Southern Ohio for 3 years, before we moved to Virginia Beach, VA, where my husband attended Regents University.  Upon his graduation, we went to Africa for 3 years to serve in Missions – first in Zimbabwe with Dr. Ezekiel Guti, and then in Zambia, serving with Rev. Nevers Mumba as Academic Dean for the CFNI Bible College.  I served as Secretary for the school. 

God then moved us to Guatemala, Central America where we served the last 24 years, teaching Pastors and Leaders in a Mobile Bible College fashioned after the Tabernacle in the Wilderness.  I served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Missions Ministry from 1985 (at its inception) until 2013.

I am honored to serve in this same capacity here at Braden United Methodist Church and look forward to many wonderful years together with you!

Yolanda Robinson

The Discipleship/Faith Development Team Leader will work closely with the Pastor and Lay Speakers to plan and coordinate studies and spiritual development opportunities.  I will also work with individuals and groups to develop a plan of action for our congregation to grow in their spiritual and leadership skills.  I will be assisting the Team Leaders in enlisting servant volunteers for short term task groups and ministry projects.  I will lead in providing affirmation and recognition of ministry servant volunteers and develop a positive atmosphere for all people to be involved in an area of ministry.

The Discipleship Team includes the following ministries:

  • Sunday School, Vacation Bible School

  • Home & Weekly Bible Study

  • United Methodist Men

  • United Methodist Women

  • Youth


Love Net Team Leader

Tiffany was born and raised in West Toledo where she continues to reside with her daughters Brooklynne and Sydney.  She has been a life-long member of Braden United Methodist church however, recently was able to truly understand and realize how wonderful God truly is.  She is forever grateful for his Grace and Mercy.

In January 2013, she took on the role as the leader the Love Net ministry. This team consist of six core groups; First Time Visitors, Absentee members, Sick & Shut-in, Senior Mission, Birthday Club and Hospitality. Outside of the Love Net team she enjoys working with United Methodist Women, singing in the choir, working with the Liturgical Dance Ministry and attending Bible study.

While there are many passages of the bible, her all time favorite is: Proverbs 16:3 Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.

In her spare time Tiffany loves working with her daughters’ school PTO, spending time with her mother, Delvia Bishop, traveling and event planning.

William (Skip) Davis Jr.

As Communications Team Leader, Skip is responsible for updating Braden's bimonthly newsletter and keep the website updated and current.  He is also building a social media presence for Braden UMC on Facebook, Twitter and Youtube.  

Skip is the son of former Braden pastor, Rev. William C. Davis Sr.  He is a freelance graphic designer who is a Graphic Designer at Adams Street Publishing. He and his wife Megan Davis lead Braden's Youth Ministry program.

Greetings to you my brothers and sisters in Christ. I am excited to announce that I have accepted the task of being the Lay Leader here at Braden United Methodist Church.

Just a little about me. I am an active member of Braden and serve in many different capacities. I Love the Lord and count it a blessing to be used by the Master and serve as one of His faithful servants.
I will be contacting many of you and reaching out to you for assistance; I will need volunteers.

Ron Boose

Our custodian, Ron Boose worked for Asbury Church & Asbury Daycare for 12 years. His main duties are cleaning the daycare classrooms, office and kitchen daily and cleaning the church offices, sanctuary and restrooms weekly. In addition, Ron does many other jobs around the building like changing light bulbs, changing the sign, painting, small repairs, waxing floors and more. Ron also opens and closes for the building rentals. Ron is always willing to offer his help when asked.

Ron grew up in Toledo, has five children and four grandchildren. He also works for the Clarion Inn on Secor during the day. He enjoys doing various home improvement projects and working on cars. Ron is a very dedicated worker.
